Using Technology

A Day in the Life Of…

Woman at computer

In today’s world, technology helps companies work faster and smarter. Turner is no different. We are committed to providing our employees with the best tools to help them manage both their work and their careers.

Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) are transforming the AEC industry as clients are increasingly requesting the use of BIM and VDC on their projects. BIM refers to a dynamic, digital, 3D-model of a building or a facility that has additional information associated with the building elements. Virtual Design and Construction is referred to as the process of using BIM in the design, pre-construction, construction or operation process of a facility.

Turner was a “first mover” many years ago in the application of Building Information Modeling. We have since moved to integrate BIM into our standard business practices and throughout a building’s life-cycle. We have experienced BIM management and modeling staff, developed proprietary tools, established standards and QA / QC protocols.

Turner has ongoing or completed nearly $20 billion in BIM projects representing work on 100 projects. Turner has grown to be the leading adopter of BIM technology in the construction industry in the U. S. and in the Top 10 among all A/E/C firms according to a recent Building Design + Construction survey.
